Doug is a 12-week-old German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a whole lot of personality and just a dash of mystery. We suspect he may have a smidge of German Wirehaired Pointer in him—he sports a tiny beard, a few longer (yet still smooth) hairs throughout his coat, and charming little “Grinch toes” that make him extra adorable.

He’s a tall, lanky guy with big ol’ ears that seem to have a personality of their own! Based on his current size and build, we expect Doug will grow into a larger dog.

Doug is everything you could want in a puppy. He's playful, curious, and incredibly affectionate. He’s a fearless explorer who loves toys and romping with other dogs, but he’s also a major cuddler and total “velcro dog” who wants to be wherever his people are. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch or following you room to room, Doug’s happiest when he’s close.

He’s already doing great with house and crate training and is eager to learn more. Like any young GSP, Doug will need a family committed to continuing his training, providing structure, and giving him the exercise and mental stimulation he needs to thrive.

As a young pup, Doug will need continued guidance and consistency. He may have potty accidents, cry when crated, chew on things that aren’t his, and require training classes to help him grow into the best version of himself. If you're ready for the joys and challenges of raising a young shorthair, Doug could be your perfect match.

Doug's Adoption Fee is $425. He will come with age-appropriate vaccinations, be de-wormed, and microchipped. His adoption agreement will require that he be neutered at six months of age. Once GPPR receives documentation confirming this, $40 of his adoption fee will be reimbursed.
