Looking for a best friend whose equal parts snuggle bug, goofball, and shadow? Meet Ranger, a 3-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a heart as big as his paws, and a talent for lap-sitting that defies his 55-pound frame. Yes, he will try to sit on you. Yes, you’ll love it.
Ranger is the ultimate people-pup. He’s never met a stranger (human or dog), and he firmly believes personal space is just a myth. If you’ve ever dreamed of having a living, breathing weighted blanket that gives hugs and follows you lovingly from room to room, your dream just came true.

This handsome guy came from a rough start, living outdoors and battling heartworm, but you’d never know it by his sweet, trusting nature. He’s a quiet soul, though he does cry a little when you leave the room… because, obviously, he was under the impression that you two were going everywhere together forever.

Ranger’s hobbies include:

• Hugging you with his whole body
• Collecting crinkly toys like treasure
• Counter surfing (he’s in his culinary exploration era)
• Sneaking off with your shoes (he swears he’s just keeping them warm)
• Practicing his “sit” and “come” like a champ

He’s great with other dogs and adores people. He’s working on potty training (a polite way of saying: watch for the signs, because he doesn’t always send advance notice yet). He’s also still learning that sudden noises like mops and car doors aren’t out to get him, a little reassurance and love go a long way.

Ranger would thrive in a home where someone is around often, and where he can keep working on his training, soak up affection, and chew on plenty of toys (preferably instead of your footwear).
