My name is Sparrow! I came to my foster family with the belief that I spent my former three years living outside. That made indoor life a bit of a struggle for me but my foster family, both four and two legged, quickly helped me adjust. I have learned so much in my short time with them. I’m crate trained, house broken and have overcome most of the indoor noises that used to frighten me! I do well with kids, outdoor cats, other dogs, ( it can take a minute but we become friends) I love treats but they work best on me indoors. I am easily distracted when outside, I will need some help with my leash skills.
My foster family has a hobby farm so they have free range chickens, ducks, and rabbits. I have been a good girl and don’t bother them when they get close to the house. However I have not been given off leash privileges yet, but I have the potential with the right family and time given. I am still learning indoor boundaries and respect for humans but I have come a long way! I know sit, stay, wait, no and kennel (that means I have to go to my crate, it’s not my favorite but i listen pretty quickly). I try my best to follow all of the commands, sometimes I fail but that’s okay… My humans both big and small, know that I am learning and that I want to please them.
I wasn’t so sure about snuggles and getting into the bed or on the couch but I have been spoiled and now my parents bed is my favorite place! I love to play with toys, sometimes I forget which ones are mine but if you tell me to drop I will listen. I love to play with my four legged foster brother, he is very energetic and keeps me busy! My two legged foster siblings also keep me entertained. They are 11, 12, and 14. I have learned that while I am not very heavy I am tall and jumping on people is not okay… I am still working on it but my two legged foster siblings help remind me… Not sure I would remember that with little ones…. But I can be trusted never to hurt them!
I love my food, I am currently on scheduled feeding but I don't love it so much that I would hurt anyone/thing around me. I love to stalk and chase bugs, I get very excited to see my foster family when they arrive home, toys are a huge part of keeping me busy, I am told I would do well in a fenced in yard.
