Josie is a two-year-old female German Shorthair Pointer who is FULL OF ENERGY! She does eventually slow down and loves to snuggle next to you.
Josie has had some training and knows how to sit, stay, and lay down, but she does not walk well on a leash. She will need continued obedience training. She does great with children, but can get a bit excited. Josie has two foster siblings (dogs). She gets along great with them, but she can become very vocal during play time and that could be a good/bad thing depending on the temperament of other dogs. Josie is very athletic and can easily jump 3 feet vertically. Therefore, a four foot fence will not be an option for her forever home. Josie has pointed a few birds since arriving, but we are not sure if she is hunting material. We are hopeful that we can take her out to a field to give it a try.
Josie's ideal forever home would have a six-foot-high fence, minimal alone time, allow her to sleep with her humans, provide her daily exercise, continued obedience training and lots of love!
