Murdock is a younger GSP who is a happy boy, loves to play with toys, and loves to run around the yard. He is house trained, crate trained, and dog door trained. He rides well in the car, but can be shy in new situations and with new people. Give him a little time to warm up, and he will smile at you and wag his tail as he comes in for petting on the head.

 

Murdock is overweight and has just started a diet and exercise plan, but that has not made him grumpy at all! He is learning that toys are rewards that are just as fun as food, and he is both food and toy motivated, so training can still take place as he loses weight. We have just started basic training and he is learning to walk on a leash without pulling.

 

Murdock can be vocal and would not do well in a home with cats. He currently lives with two female GSP foster sisters and does well with them. He has not lived with another male dog, but we believe he will do best in a home with at least one other dog to help him be brave in situations that make him nervous. 

 

Murdock is up to date on all his vetting and has no other health concerns than his weight. Older, considerate children would work well with him since they would be able to handle his size and be mindful of his initial shyness.

 

Murdock is being fostered in Minnesota.
