Meet Rusty, he’s a three year old male.  He’s a big boy topping the scales at 71lbs!  The vet raved about his structure and how good looking a fella he is!

Rusty is a pretty fun loving boy who comes to his name, can sit and has a soft mouth when he returns a ball or toy. He’ll do more for a toy than a treat but listens pretty well to his foster momma.

He’s partially kennel trained, liking to see you instead of alone.  He has slept in it but prefers to sleep on your floor next to your bed.  He also is mostly potty trained with a few marking or accidents while at his fosters home.

Rusty has some protection of food or bones but can be quickly redirected.  He now eats in his kennel with zero problems.  He came in with info about squabbling with other male dogs.  He’s had minimal issues with his foster pup sister (10months) who gets in his face, play over bones and toys.

Rusty is awesome with kids, but likely doesn’t always know his size and may bump a little one over in excitement.  He lets his foster family kids (11 and 14) take things out of his mouth, pull toys away, etc with no issues.

Rusty has an awesome mouth for retrieving but suspect that he hasn’t hunted before.  When firing a dummy gun he wasn’t a really scared but didn’t know what to do.  Rusty would do best as a family dog, potentially alone or with a female dog, no male dogs.  He’s easy going and while active, settles nicely and will lay by your desk while you work.  Rusty would likely do better in a family that is around a lot so he’s not kenneled for long periods of time!

Rusty is being fostered in Minnesota.
