Hi, I’m Annie! My foster Mom says I’m an “easy keeper”, but I just think she means I love being part of a family (because I really do). It took me a littl e whil e to relax when I first got here, but now I really enjoy life. M y silly side comes out when I wrestle and pl ay chase or “ bitey face” with my foster brother . I even try to get my elderly foster sis to join. My foster Mom says I have really good dog manners. Cats are also pretty cool, I’m friends with the two that live with me . And the best part - o ne of my humans is 6 yea rs old! I love laying on the bed with him while he reads to me. Not to brag, but I’m a really great cuddler .
I don’t need a kennel while you’re away – I’ll just happily snooze on the couch. But if you ask me if I want to “go for a ride” or “go outside”, I’m all over it. Sniffing around the yard is super f un! Foster Mom is working with me on my recall. I had to learn my name but when you ta lk to me nicely I listen well. If I do need to go potty (like first thing in the morning), I’ll yip once or twice to get your attention . S torms are not something I’m fond of. I’m not destructive – I seek out my humans or snuggle under pillows and blankets to feel safe.
Bully sticks are my favorite! Toys look like they might be fun, maybe I’ll try those? But I’d rather go for a walk or snuggle with a nice human. At first, walks were kind of confusing, and I kept in the middle of the pack. Now I want to lead and sometimes forget I shouldn’t pull. Foster Mom says I’d make a good running buddy, I like to go!
Notes from foster Mom: Annie thrives on a gentle hand/voice. She seeks out attention and affection, but is OK sharing with the other pets. She has been great with respectful kids! She wo n over our two cats, elderly female dog, and our ( kinda jerky) male dog very quickly . Annie has quickly picked up our routine, and is thriving as part of a family. She does not know commands, but she is so polite and gentle it has not been an issue. We have been working on recall, sit, and “easy” and “let’s go” while walking on a leash. She does size up our 4 foot chain link fence, but has so far respected it and called off when I ask her to. Annie is located in Iowa.
